✅ Check the simple stuff first
  1. Make sure the patient is safe — swap in a backup unit if you need to.
  2. Reproduce the complaint yourself and write down exactly what you see (screen, alarm, code).
  3. Check power, battery, cables, accessories, and settings before ordering parts.
  4. Then open the service manual above and follow its troubleshooting section.
🛠️ Common faults for CADD-Solis (8)

System Fault alarm (red screen with error numbers, two-tone alarm, amber light) source ↗

  • Write down the error numbers
  • Clear by pressing both soft keys, or a soft key plus the power switch, or by removing the batteries/AC
  • If it recurs, return for service; if the protocol library was lost, do not use the pump and reload the library

Blank screen with alarm, or no power after new AAs source ↗

  • Batteries were removed or depleted, or the battery door opened while delivering
  • Check AA polarity; install 4 new AAs, a charged pack, or connect the AC adapter

Air in-line detected source ↗

  • Clamp the line and disconnect from the patient
  • Prime the tubing to remove air, then restart

Downstream/upstream occlusion source ↗

  • Clear blockage, kink or closed clamp downstream; delivery resumes when cleared
  • Upstream: check the reservoir and tubing above the pump

Cassette alarms (not attached properly / partially unlatched / locked but not latched / detached) source ↗

  • Close tubing, remove the cassette fully and reattach; verify the cassette type on screen
  • Unlock the cassette/keypad lock and reattach
  • Replace the cassette if it persists

Check for empty tubing or reservoir source ↗

  • Check for an empty container or air under the pump
  • If it persists, the pressure sensor is faulty: remove from service and contact ICU Medical

Battery communication lost (CADD-Solis Communication Module) source ↗

  • Keep on AC; the infusion continues but the alarm repeats every 2 minutes
  • Stop at a safe point and send the pump and module for service

High/standard volume set mismatch source ↗

  • Rates above 250 mL/hr need a high-volume set; swap the cassette to match the protocol
🧰 Common checks for Infusion Pumps (5)

Occlusion source ↗

  • Check for closed clamps/stopcocks, kinks, IV site patency
  • Check pump height vs patient (LVP)

Air-in-line source ↗

  • Look for small bubbles; disconnect and re-prime

Door/cassette/syringe loading source ↗

  • Close door with set seated; check syringe clamp, flange and plunger holders

Battery/AC source ↗

  • Run on AC; replace/maintain battery; battery service alarms → repair

Device/system error source ↗

  • Power cycle once; if it repeats remove from service
