✅ Check the simple stuff first
- Make sure the patient is safe — swap in a backup unit if you need to.
- Reproduce the complaint yourself and write down exactly what you see (screen, alarm, code).
- Check power, battery, cables, accessories, and settings before ordering parts.
- Then open the service manual above and follow its troubleshooting section.
🛠️ Common faults for Plum Aplus (6)
Distal occlusion (N180/N181/N186) source ↗
- Check distal tubing for kinks and IV site patency
- Raise distal pressure limit if set too low
- Follow the manual's steps to avoid a bolus after clearing
Proximal occlusion / air (N182–N189, N230/N231) source ↗
- Open clamps; check for empty or disconnected container
- Open and close door to re-run the cassette test
- Backprime into line B tubing or a syringe
Cassette test failure (N251) source ↗
- Check clamps; manually reprime; close door
- Replace set; if it repeats, replace infuser
Battery warnings (Replace Battery / Charger Service / Low Battery / N252) source ↗
- Plug into AC (about 30 min left at Low Battery)
- Replace Battery: charge current >200 mA/hr or voltage below the depleted threshold → replace battery
- Charger Service: the charge circuit is misbehaving → send for service
Lockout prevents keys (N253–N256) source ↗
- Hard lockout: back switch down
- Soft lockout: decimal key then 9, 6, 3
Malfunction E300 or higher source ↗
- Record code, power off to clear
- If it repeats, remove from service and contact tech support with the code

🧰 Common checks for Infusion Pumps (5)
Occlusion source ↗
- Check for closed clamps/stopcocks, kinks, IV site patency
- Check pump height vs patient (LVP)
Air-in-line source ↗
- Look for small bubbles; disconnect and re-prime
Door/cassette/syringe loading source ↗
- Close door with set seated; check syringe clamp, flange and plunger holders
Battery/AC source ↗
- Run on AC; replace/maintain battery; battery service alarms → repair
