Stuck? Start here

✅ Check the simple stuff first
  1. Make sure the patient is safe — swap in a backup unit if you need to.
  2. Reproduce the complaint yourself and write down exactly what you see (screen, alarm, code).
  3. Check power, battery, cables, accessories, and settings before ordering parts.
  4. Then open the service manual above and follow its troubleshooting section.
🛠️ Common faults for ELI 380 (7)

Screen dark / won't power on source ↗

  • Check that the AC cord is grounded and intact; the green LED by the power button should be lit
  • If in Standby, press On/Standby
  • Unplug AC and hold On/Off >30 s, then reconnect; if the lid opens with no logo in 10 s, hold power >30 s

Paper Queue Fault source ↗

  • Use Baxter paper (P/N 9100-026-52 or -55) and fan the stack
  • Load with the cue mark at lower left; check for cardboard under the stack
  • Pull out ½ sheet, close the door until it clicks, then RHY → Done
  • Pages stop short or overrun: Gears → Advanced (password admin) → Service → Calibrate Cue

Grinding noise, paper won't advance source ↗

  • Remove paper; check for cardboard or broken tray plastic
  • Service → Writer Test; if pressing the door's lower-right corner stops the noise, the gearbox or plastic is damaged → Baxter Tech Support

Crooked print or missing lines source ↗

  • Use correct paper; clean the print head with alcohol and let dry

Excess ECG artifact source ↗

  • Use Baxter electrodes; inspect banana plugs and clips for corrosion
  • Reseat lead wires on the AM12/AM15E/WAM; test with a simulator and a second module
  • Flex the wires on the simulator; replace the lead wires showing artifact

Leads Off / gaps with AM12/AM15E source ↗

  • Plug into the socket marked ECG
  • Flex the module cable along its length; replace this user-replaceable cable if the trace returns
  • 'Searching for WAM': Gears → WAM/AM-XX → Switch To AM-XX

Searching for WAM / WAM low battery source ↗

  • Stay in range; power the WAM; replace the AA and check for corrosion
  • Check that the WAM matches the unit; re-pair: Gears → WAM/AM-XX → WAM Pairing
🧰 Common checks for ECG (2)

Leads off / bad waveform source ↗

  • Swap patient cable, then harness, then ECG board

Power/battery source ↗

  • Check AC fuses; fewer than 10 reports per charge = replace battery
