✅ Check the simple stuff first
- Make sure the patient is safe — swap in a backup unit if you need to.
- Reproduce the complaint yourself and write down exactly what you see (screen, alarm, code).
- Check power, battery, cables, accessories, and settings before ordering parts.
- Then open the service manual above and follow its troubleshooting section.
🛠️ Common faults for SV300 (7)
System Check fails (Fail. Ventilation Disabled / High Leakage) source ↗
- Disconnect the patient; connect gas; block the Y-piece with the leak test plug
- Review Details: blower, O2/insp/exp flow sensors, pressure sensors, exp valve, safety valve, leak, compliance, O2 sensor
- High Leakage means exp flow, pressure, exp valve or safety valve failed: check circuit seals and exp valve
PEEP Too Low / Airway Leak? source ↗
- Check tubing and connections for leaks
- Run System Check to quantify leak
Airway Obstructed? / Sustained Airway Pressure source ↗
- Check and clean tubing and the expiration valve
- Check the patient and settings
Inaccurate volumes source ↗
- Run Flow Sensor Calibration before first use or when values deviate
CO2 sampling abnormal (sidestream) source ↗
- Check for a kinked sampling line
- Remove the line from the water trap: if 'airway malfunction' shows, replace the water trap; otherwise replace the sampling line
- Manual zero: Setup → Maintain → User → password → CO2 In Maintenance → Zero; calibrate yearly
Battery / power alarms source ↗
- Connect external power; Battery 1/2 Failure 01–05 or Battery Undetected → service
Device Failure / Technical Error codes source ↗
- Note the number; restart if the manual allows (DF 20); otherwise remove from use and call service

| Airway Obstructed? | Tubing occluded | Clean tubing and expiration valve source ↗ |
| Sustained Airway Pressure | ≥PEEP+15 cmH2O for 15 s | Check patient, settings, occlusion source ↗ |
| Tube Disconnected? | Circuit disconnected | Reconnect the tubing source ↗ |
🧰 Common checks for Ventilators (3)
Any technical fault source ↗
- Ventilate patient by other means first, note code, send for service
Disconnection/leak/loss of PEEP source ↗
- Check circuit, ET tube and expiratory valve
Flow sensor alarms source ↗
- Remove water, recalibrate, replace sensor
